Are Alta Via wheels wind tunnel tested?
Yes. The Alta Via wheelset range was tested at Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub using controlled wind tunnel conditions across 40, 45 and 50 km/h, with yaw angles of 0°, 5°, 10° and 15°.

Is the ALTA VIA RC.65 only for racing?
The RC.65 is built for racing and high-speed riding, but it can also benefit any rider who regularly rides fast on open roads, flat terrain or rolling courses. If your priority is maximum aerodynamic efficiency, the RC.65 is the clear choice.
Should I choose RC.65 or RC.45?
Choose RC.65 if your priority is maximum speed on fast terrain. Choose RC.45 if you want a lighter, more versatile wheelset for mixed terrain, climbing, racing and fast everyday riding.
Are deeper wheels always faster?
Not always. Deeper wheels are usually more aerodynamic at higher speeds, but the fastest wheel depends on the full system: rim shape, tyre width, spoke design, bike frame, rider position and wind angle. In Alta Via’s test, the RC.65 delivered the best full-system aerodynamic result.
What does CdA mean?
CdA is a measure of aerodynamic drag. A lower CdA means the rider and bike create less resistance as they move through the air. In practical terms, lower CdA means you can ride faster for the same power, or hold the same speed with less effort.
